Meredith is the founder of Well-Balanced Health, where she combines her background in writing with her training in Eastern medicine to create approachable, engaging health and wellness content for everyday readers.

She is especially passionate about food therapy and the role of nutrition in supporting overall wellness. Throughout her own experiences navigating health challenges, personal loss, pregnancy & postpartum depression, the demands of building a business, and the joys (and exhaustion) of raising a toddler, food therapy and Chinese medicine have remained powerful tools for maintaining balance and resilience. Both her clinical work and personal journey reflect her deep belief in the healing potential of Chinese medicine and the restorative effects of mindful, nourishing food choices.

Outside of treating patients and spending time in the kitchen, Meredith enjoys reading, painting, thrifting, and exploring the outdoors with her family.

More About Henry

Henry is the co-creator of Well-Balanced Health and a full-time acupuncturist who occasionally contributes his expertise in Eastern medicine to articles and blog content.

In the kitchen, Henry has a natural talent for balancing flavors and ingredients, making him the team’s trusted taste tester for every recipe. His thoughtful feedback helps ensure each dish is both approachable and genuinely delicious, while still aligning with the principles of healthy eating. Through his own experience, Henry has seen firsthand how adopting a cleaner, more balanced diet can significantly improve energy levels, mental clarity, and overall well-being.

When he’s not managing the day-to-day operations of the acupuncture clinic, Henry enjoys working out, playing basketball and flag football, and spending time outdoors.

The Story Behind Well-Balanced Health

As acupuncturists, we had been dreaming for some time about starting our own clinic. Little by little, we planned, prepped, and purchased inventory, and by the time March rolled around, we had found a great little space and were prepared for the grand opening of our very first private practice. This was early 2020, and we all know what happened next...

The week we were set to open was the week everything shut down as the world faced a global pandemic and we all went into quarantine. Not long after that, the clinics where we had been working let us go. Determined to make the best out of a dizzying situation, we poured our focus (and exorbitant amounts of free time stuck at home) into cooking healthy meals together. We knew personally the impact that proper nutrition had on our energy levels, immunity and our overall physical and mental states.

As traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, we regularly use food (and herbal formulas) as medicine to help bring our bodies back into balance when feeling sick, "off," or when we need to offset the effects of stress during difficult times. If ever there was a time for proper nutrition, this was it!

Yet, as we watched things unfold over the course of 2020, we witnessed just how powerless and fearful many people felt when it came to their health. Our hearts broke as we realized the lack of proactive and preventative internal solutions being offered to the public, in lieu of externally-focused or reactive measures. We wanted to be able to help, so we started cooking up an idea (quite literally).

Our vision for Well-Balanced Health is to empower you to take charge of your health and healing, by equipping you with the tools and knowledge to not only learn how to better listen to signs from your own body, but​ to properly nourish it back to well-balanced health.​​
